Lauren is Glucose Advisors' resident technology guru. Lauren is currently working on her doctorate in Information Systems. Also an endurance athlete, Lauren believes that technology can empower diabetics to live life to the fullest.
When Lauren was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in her mid-twenties, she decided to run her first marathon. With every step, her hunger for endurance sports increased. Within one year, she ran her first half marathon, marathon, half-Ironman, and full Ironman. She now aspires to be the fastest woman with T1D at the Ironman distance and to compete at a high level.
Lauren also has a personal and professional passion for diabetes technology. She uses both the open source app, Loop with the Omnipod insulin pump, as well as the Tandem tslim X2. As part of her doctoral research, she has projects related to how to make diabetes apps and devices more personalized. When she's not swimming, biking, running, or working on her research, she also likes to help translate "tech speak" on diabetes devices into articles for non-techies.
